Have you joined or will you join The Paul Douglas Caucus, The Independent Progressive Caucus, or Both?

Housing & Affordability

No, The Paul Douglas Caucus.
Yes, The Independent Progressive Caucus.
No, As a freshman Alderman, I would seek involvement in the Independent Progressive
Caucus along with Aldermen Waguespack, Fioretti, and others who have held the banner
on progressive issues in City Council most often. I would hope that eventually the Paul
Douglas & Independent Progressive Caucus’ can work together on progressive measures,
but for now I will choose to align myself with those most likely to vote independent of the
Mayor.

Both – I would consider joining these caucuses, but I am not currently a member of either caucus.

NO,
Yes;I don’t agree with a number of votes of members of the Progressive Caucus, including recent
votes against environmental initiatives proposed by the Mayor. I also don’t believe in being a
reflexive “no” vote against the Mayor, as some members of the Caucus have seemed to be at
times. I would not be this type of legislator. However, I believe we need more strong,
independent leaders in City Council, which is what I intend to be. Given the need for more
independent leadership and a renewed focus on people over corporations, I intend to join the
Progressive Caucus.

Yes, as well as the Hispanic Caucus

YES

If the members of the Progressive Caucus modified their tactics, I would consider rejoining the Progressive Caucus or advocate a merger of the Progressive Caucus with the Paul Douglas Alliance. In the meantime, I will continue to work with the members of the Progressive Caucus on the many issues on which we share common ground.

I have not joined, however if representing the Ward causes unpopular decisions [progressive]
then consideration to join will be given.

I would need to be convinced over time
