I support any measure that helps provide the best education for all children which in turn helps cut off the supply of individuals to school to prison pipeline.
The schools need more training an opportunity to work with restorative justice practices. Also, more involvement with youth programming in the area and church and community organization support. If the school restorative justice program can work with these programs and provide opportunities, I believe it can significantly stop the “schools to prison” pipeline.
We need to allow people with non violent drug crimes to be able to be active citizens again. We need wrap around services to help children in bad situations get the support they need. We need restorative justice programs in Chicago public Schools, and we need less restrictions on ex-felons finding employment.
