I believe that being an effective alderman is a full-time 60+ hour a week, 52-week a year job, if
done correctly. As such, it will be my only job.

Stephen Niketopoulos IVI-IPO 2015 Chicago City Council

Minimum 50 hours, it’s important to go to community meetings yourself, not staff things out.

I will spend as many hours necessary to complete the job in an effective manner.

My duties will vary, according to my committee schedules, but I expect to easily spend 60 hours
per week performing aldermanic duties

70+. I plan on having night and weekend satellite ward offices in the neighborhood parks, schools,
and public places. Constituents won’t be limited to just one ward night a week and will have full
access to their alderman.

40 hours minimal but it appears easily to be a 60 hour a week jobs.

I
will not have a cap on the number of hours. I will spend as much time as I can in order to attend
to my duties and minimally, will work 40 hours but anticipate having to work far more.

I work 12-hour days and also on weekends.

60-70 and even more, if it’s an emergency like a water main break etc.or a fire you have to spend
the time calling property owners to secure permanent housing for someone who has possibility
been displaced etc.
